Activity 1. Educational Reform and Pareto's Law

The education system is one of the most important elements in the growth of any country. When a society is well educated, it’s able to improve the economy, politics, culture, and education itself. Therefore, having a competitive education system is a priority. For this to happen, and using Pareto’s Law, we first need to identify what 20% of all the actions have the biggest impact and then focus on them. Nowadays, because of globalization and hyperconnectivity, the focus should not be on learning a lot of information, but rather learning how to use that information wisely. Critical thinking is the most valued skill in the 21st century, and the new educational reform should treat it as such. This means that teacher’s efforts should be on developing this skill with their activities and classes and the development of this skill should represent that 20% that gives the 80% of the results.
